  • How to submit positions through People Admin for
    appropriate departmental approvals

Submitting a position for approval
  • When the position description is complete and
    ready for the appropriate approvals, navigate to
    the position summary page where the radial
    buttons are located
  • To get to the position summary page, scroll to
    the bottom of the screen and select View Action
    Summary
  • Select the radial button beside the next
    appropriate level of approval

  • When the position has been successfully sent to
  • the next level of approval, a message similar to
  • the following will appear

PEOPLE ADMIN HINTS
  • To ensure the action is forwarded to the
    appropriate approver, determine the level within
    the system of the next person in line for
    departmental approval prior to sending the
    position through People Admin
  • The persons title may not be their actual role
    within the system (ex. the persons title may be
    Director, but their role in the system may be
    Chair/Supervisor)
  • Be sure to ask the person or contact Human
    Resources to verify the correct role/level within
    the system

  • The requisition will move throughout the hiring
    department until it reaches the Dean/Director or
    VP/Provost (if applicable) and finally to Human
    Resources for approval

  • When a position has been submitted for approval,
    an email will be
  • sent notifying you of the pending action.
  • The email will look similar to this

  • Log into People Admin at https//jobs.fau.edu/hr
  • Begin by selecting Search Actions
  • After the page reloads, enter the corresponding
    position number or title and select Search

  • When the position is found, select View under
    the classification title. The page will default
    to the position summary
  • Review the position summary to ensure all of the
    information looks correct
  • If any changes need to be made, select Edit,
    then choose the tab that corresponds with the
    needed change

  • Select the tab where the changes need to be made
  • Make the necessary edits and then select Save
    and Stay on this Page
  • When the changes have been saved, scroll to the
    bottom of the page and select Preview Action,
    which will take you back to the position summary
    page

  • Select the radial button that corresponds with
    the next level of approval within People Admin
    (Ex. Posting to VP)
  • Next select Continue and Confirm on the
    following page to complete the requisitions
    approval
  • The top level of approval within the department
    (Dean for colleges, VP/Provost for departments)
    should submit the action to HR for final approval

After the position description is submitted to HR
  • The position description will initially go to
    Classification Compensation for review and
    approval
  • When Class Comp approves the position
    description, the recruitment will be sent to the
    Employment Office for review
  • An Employment Representative will contact the
    hiring authority to review any necessary changes
