Biography
  • Rosa McCauley was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on
    February 4,1913.
  • She died October 24,2005she was 92.
  • She grew up in Pine Level, Alabama.
  • Her parents were Leona McCauley and James
    McCauley.
  • She only has one brother named Sylvester.

Segregation
  • Back in the 1900s, blacks were being
    discriminated by the whites.
  • They couldnt go to the same places, they had
    separate schools, and other public buildings.

Rosas Bus Trouble
  • On the bus, blacks sat in the middle.
  • One day the driver named James Blake demanded 4
    blacks to give up their seats.
  • One being Rosa she did not give up her seat. She
    was too tired.
  • So James got Rosa arrested.

Montgomery Bus Boycott
  • Rosas arrest led to the end of segregation.
  • Then the Montgomery bus boycott come into affect.
  • This is when blacks stopped using the buses and
    walked.
  • This made the bus company loose most of its
    benefits.

Contributions to Society
  • Because of Rosa, we are now able to sit on the
    bus without any trouble.
  • There are not any sections for whites or blacks
    thanks to Rosa.

The Outkast Delima
  • Rosa Parks sewed the hip-hop group Outkast for a
    song they produced.
  • She didnt like the lyrics to the song.

  • Rosa was married to Raymond Parks. They married
    in December of 1932.
  • Rosa was a member of the NAACP.
  • The NAACP stands for the National Association for
    the Advancement of Colored People
