• Can be important to reach ultimate LHC
  luminosity.
• Lots of excitement.
• Well matched to LARP mission
• Some success at KEK-B
• Cons
• Very aggressive time scale
• KEK time from concept to beam test 15 years!!
• Not well matched to LARPs budget

Comments on (workshop) Plan

• Is decoupling cavity and coupler a wise move?
• Should we spend anything on cryo or LLRF this
  year?
• Do we even have the luxury of thinking about
  exotic designs?
• Should BNL be leading the design on such a short
  time scale?
• No experience with this type of cavity
• Rama at CERN for rest of year

• Initial request 700K
• Lowered to 600K
• Still large compared to total 2.9M AS budget
• LBL has offered significant off the books
  design contributions
• Experience with this HOM damped cavities
• How to integrate into effort
