about 90 spare crystals from BABAR (2 per ring)

• only neighbours fit into a solid 4x4 block
• long crystals might be reused for BABAR endcap
• some crystals have been irradiated (10 to 20 in
  LY)
• some crystals are bad quality
• do we have to pay for them?
