My Teaching Career
It all began at Clemson University
After much pressure from my family, I attended
Clemson University and I earned both my Bachelor
and Masters degrees in regular and special
education. ( I dont want you to think that I
went to college against my will, but since my
Grandfather and Father both played football for
Clemson, I didnt have much of a choice.)

afternoons during my college years were spent
watching to Tigers play in Memorial Stadium.

My First Year Teaching
After graduating with my Masters Degree, I
decided to stay in Clemson and teach at Ravenel
Elementary School. I taught the K-3 special
education class for students with disabilities.
Being a brand new teacher, I had lots to learn
and no room for mistakes!
Look at me, I made it!
At the end of the school year, I took my class on
a field trip to learn how to rock climb.

Welcome to Sunset Park Rock Hill, SC
During my first two years at Sunset Park, Mrs.
Lumpkin and I not only became amazing co-workers,
but also great friends. We taught the K-3
self-contained special education class. There
are lots of great memories from those two years!

Making the Change from Special Education to
Regular Education
Moving from a self-contained classroom to a third
grade classroom, posed lots of changes for my
future. I decided to try teaching in a different
classroom environment than the typical classroom
with desks and assigned seats.

flourished with the ability to have choices in
the classroom!

A Few of My Favorite Things
Clemson Football!
I love to lay out on the beach, where I can stay
cool by the wind coming off the waves.
I have the most fun driving alone in my car, so I
can sing at the top of my lungs!
Each week I play on a co-ed softball team. I
love hitting the ball over the heads of the
outfielders.
I enjoy relaxing on the couch, watching my
favorite TV shows at night.
Catching up on the phone with old friends is the
best!
I love challenging and encouraging my students to
try their hardest!
