- User Can Use DICOM data by entering patient
demographic or study data and queries the DICOM

images and a DICOM viewer - Interface may be used to send a report back to
the Practice Management system Via Flat File
Interface or Dicom Send. - User may view the DICOM images using a Web Client

12Patient CD
- A patient CD can be burned from the AXON Study
Research screen. The CD contains - DICOM images of the selected patient
- DICOM viewer for viewing images directly from CD
- Copies of the DICOM images in JPEG format which
can be displayed with a web browser - HTML web page for the JPEG images
- Auto-Start program which automatically starts the
viewer after inserting the CD

18Archiving
- When the Archiving button is pressed, archiving
starts and the progress is shown - Concept of Archiving
- Set-up Basic archiving parameters are set.
Set-up for Automatic Archiving can be executed - Start By clicking the Archiving button, studies
which have not been viewed for the longest time
will be copied onto CD or DVD - Security After burning an Archive disk the
image data is checked bit by bit and the disk
will only be released and the image data marked
as archived only when there is 100 congruence

- Outsourcing If the on-line archive reaches its
preset capacity limit, studies already archived
will be deleted - Reading In If an archived study is needed again
it will be recovered from the archive disk and
returned to on-line storage - Status Archive status of a study is indicated
in the appropriate column in the Studies menu - A Archived

additional copy - of the data should be made

display and can be edited - Several images can be selected by holding down
the control key when clicking on images

- Image orientation is displayed in the top left
corner of the image and is controlled by the
rotate and invert buttons

images or to the complete series - Examples of functions which may be applied to the

- To zoom an image use the slider to increase the
zoom factor - Click the 11 button to display images in full
resolution - The fitted view button resizes the image to fit
the image window

- Clicking the magnifying glass button activates
the magnifying glass - Moving the mouse over the image when activated
magnifies the area of the image

- If an image is displayed at full resolution and
the image area cant display the full image, a
pan window can be opened by right clicking in the
image area and selecting the pan window from the
menu

- Hold Left Mouse Button Down
- Click Once Right Mouse Button W/L
- Click Twice - Full Magnification
- Click Three times Pan Image
31Changing the Image Matrix
- To chane the image matrix, click on the
appropriate button or use the edit fields to
adjust the number of columns and rows - Maximum matrix of 5x5 is supported
32Compare Mode
- In the compare mode images from different series
can be displayed for comparison next to each
other - Compare mode is activated by right clicking in
the image area and changing the compare mode
status from the menu - Any number of studies can be compared
- A series may be exchanged by dragging and
dropping an image from a different series into
one of the containers
33Annotation and Measurement
- By clicking on the Annotation tab at the top
right of the Images screen, a menu bar is
displayed for Annotation and Measurement on the
image - Check boxes at the bottom of the menu allow you
to turn on - Display patient information
- Display user annotations Text Box
- Display ruler Angle Measurements
34Printing
- AXON supports both DICOM Printing to a medical
imager and Windows printing to a paper printer - Right clicking in the image area and selecting
print image on the menu brings up a print menu
which allows you to select and configure a printer
