En français, every NOUN has a gender. It is
either MASCULINE or FEMININE. It has NOTHING to
do with who uses it more, what color it is, etc.
It is just a grammatical fact. Remember that a
NOUN is a person, place, thing, or idea.

You can tell which gender a noun is by the
article before it. UN masculine UNE
feminine Both UN and UNE mean a / an

If you want to use an indefinite article with
things that are plural use DES plural for both
masculine and feminine DES means SOME

note which items are masculine and which are
