• All EVDs
• Repeat EVDs
• Reason for repeat EVDs

Summary of the results

• No of patients underwent EVDs 84
• More than 1 EVD 13 patients (15.4 )
• Malposition was noted in 8 patients (9.5 )

Discussion

• Practice need to be improved
• Basic neurosurgery procedures undertaken should
  be audited as well
• It is important to quote in-house rates of
  complication than those from literature

How?

• Protocol setting up standard protocol
• Use of ultrasound guidance in difficult
  ventriculostomies
• Repeat audit after changes had been implemented
