14Lessons learned Issues
- Data quality
- Dropped points and irrational data
- Examine, filter, correct data before analysis
- Data buffer and network limitations for long-term
(hours) of steady state data - Anti-aliasing input filter is required for noise
analysis - Ability to subtract dc would improve resolution
for steady state data - Analysis software a must
- But generally works as anticipated
15Usefulness of Permanent HSDL
- Any reactor trip becomes opportunity for safety
system instrument verification - Readily available data for plant upset diagnosis
- Steady State data available any time (eliminates
temporary procedures)
16Conclusions Permanent High Speed Data Logger
- Necessary
- For demonstrating compliance with safety analysis
time constants - For effective sensor and system health monitoring
- For diagnosis and resolution of problems
- successfully implemented in Point Lepreau
- should be retrofitted on existing plants
- should be included in IC design of new plants
