- Standard A. Students will acquire the
attitudes, knowledge and skills that contribute

6Many young people leave school without the
knowledge or foundation that is required to find
and keep a job. In the workplace of today,
employers require that employees have advanced
academic and technical skills. These skills are
required because of the rapidly changing and
emerging technologies.
7Students graduating from high school need highly
technical skills to be competitive in the job
market. Up to 85 of all jobs will require at
least two years of education beyond high school.

- Assessment First Semester of the 8th grade
- Student career research First Semester of the
8th grade - Four-Year Plan developed - before the end of
first semester 8th grade - Student/Parent/Advisor Conference for career plan
prior to registration for high school

school. It can also help establish what the next
step will be after high school apprenticeships,
technical college, community college, four year
college or universities, work, or a combination
of several of these activities .

create pathways that lead to an associate or
baccalaureate degree or a post-secondary
certificate in a specific career field.
22Students combine high school classes, real-world
experience, and/or college classes, to form a
balanced and practical educational experience.

college credit through content enhanced
articulated courses and dual credit.
