Broadband Friendly Protocol (I)
  • Establishes criteria and guidelines for regions
    to become broadband friendly - how to attract
    suppliers and investors into the region to
    further develop broadband infrastructure
  • Developed in collaboration with
    telecommunications suppliers industry and Local
    Government
  • An operational framework for Local Government

Broadband Friendly Protocol (II)
  • Provides structure and best practices which Local
    Government can adopt in order to enhance
    Community Outcomes through more effective
    collaboration with the telecommunications
    industry.
  • Identifies common key practices which will
    qualify a district (or region) as being
    Broadband Friendly and provide some consistency
    across the industry and Local Government when
    dealing with the creation and maintenance of
    telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Many District Plans are silent on the requirement
    for developers to provide telecommunication
    infrastructure
