  • Children need to
  • Read and be read to regularly ideally everyday
  • Be able to attempt unfamiliar words by using the
    pictures, phonics, grammar and meaning of the
    sentence
  • Read with increasing fluency and expression
  • Be able to understand what is being read and
    demonstrate this through discussion including
    expressing their own opinions
  • Read a wide range of material e.g. fiction and
    non-fiction, signs, packaging, magazines

    multiplication and division
