Characteristics of Inverse Mode
  • Is not CPU limited requires minimal CPU at data
    logger instantaneous positioning performed at
    the server
  • Is not bandwidth limited requires only a single
    output stream of raw data from the data logger to
    the server
  • At the same time, provides positions back to the
    rover (in NMEA GGA format) for client
    applications (e.g., surveying, precise ag)
  • More amenable to use of ultra high-rate data
    (e.g., machine control, seismic monitoring)
  • Trivial to include and apply external
    troposphere and ionosphere models, ultra-rapid
    precise orbits, geoid models etc., at server,
    using existing protocols
  • Allows for a manager to determine the status of
    field units in real-time, e.g., for height
    modernization study
  • Allows high-rate instantaneous positions to be
    fed into a local or external application in open
    Geodetics RYO binary format (positions can be
    streamed in real-time)
