Do they have the same velocity?

Jacks Speed- 10 miles/hour
11Force
- Forces change motion. Pushing and Pulling are
kinds of forces. - Force causes acceleration.
12Friction
- Friction is a force that resists the motion of
objects when the objects are touching each other.
If Jack doesnt pedal, the bike will eventually
stop because of the friction between the wheels
and ground.

- McDonough 7 Elementary School
19Post-Katrina
- For the 2005-2006 school year, 107 out of 117 New
Orleans Public Schools were designated failing
schools and transferred to Recovery School
District. - Banneker Elementary and John Dibert were LSUHSC
adopted schools beginning in the 2006-2007 school
year. - We curently only have enough volunteers to staff
Banneker Elementary, but others schools need our
help!
20Success Stories
- The 4th grade students Crocker Elementary were
awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies at the
2003 District Science Fair. - More students have passed or scored at the
masters level on the Math Science section of
the LEAP exam. - As a result of the academic improvement in all
areas of the LEAP exam and other assessment
tests, Crocker was removed from the list of
schools in corrective action.
21Success Stories
McDonough 7 Science Fair
22- Representatives from the LSUHSC/NOPS Science
Partnership participated in a panel during the
SFN Science Education workshop to discuss
strategies for establishing successful Math and
Science partnerships between local universities
and colleges and the public school system. - Society for Neuroscience National Meeting 2003
Science Education Workshop - Our Partnership was the only one emphasizing
GRADUATE STUDENT involvement!!! - An abstract about or program was chosen for an
oral presentation at the Eighth International
