Rifleman Challenge Match 2005
Stress, 4 target banks, 100 to 400 yards
distance, par time for match. Shooters are
paired at random. Match winner is paired against
other match winners until an overall winner is
determined. No second place! 1) Starting
Position--Shooters have all equipment attached to
them when proceeding to start position. Rifle is
loaded after shooter assumes position. Shooters
start in prone position behind cover. Rifle is
unsupported. 2) COF--On buzzer, shooters roll
out from cover and engage one silhouette in each
of the 4 target banks. Banks targeted in left to
right order, i.e., 100, 200, 400, 300 yards). One
hit to neutralize target. Left shooter engages
left silhouette, right shooter engages right
silhouette. Center silhouette is unused. 3)
Equipment--Any high power rifle (e.g. .223, .308,
scoped, iron sights, bolt action, semi-auto,
etc.) acceptable. No AP ammo. Elbow and kneepads
OK. No shooting jackets. Shooter is unsupported,
but may use sling. 4) Par time--20 seconds.
5) Scoring--First shooter to successfully
neutralize one target from each bank wins match.
Shots after par time are counted as a miss, if
both shooters go over par time, shooter with most
targets neutralized wins the match. No limit on
the number rounds fired. Shooters with
physical impairment may assume any safe shooting
position that suits them.
