Our Students What they say
  • Richard Hornby-Walsh FdA Landscape Garden
    Design
  • I have dyslexia but with learning support I am
making great achievements on the course
  • Richard is from the West Midlands and his passion
is art and design, however, he likes to be
outdoors and was looking for a course where he
could combine his creative skills with a love of
the outdoors. He searched UCAS, found our
Foundation Degree in Landscape Garden Design
course and thought it fitted his needs perfectly.
He is adjusting from city life to country
living, and comments it has been a bit of a
shock, but he is enjoying the more relaxed
    atmosphere.
  • Richard is dyslexic and has ADHD so does need
extra support. He feels is received great
support from his tutor, who helped Richard access
the course and made for a learning mentor.
Richard admits the first year has been a
difficult journey, but he really does value the
    support provided.
  • He is very proud and surprised with his creative
side and says the challenge is to learn about
plants, particularly their Latin names. His long
term plan is to set up his own landscape design
    company.

Our Students What they say
  • Dawn Molloy BSc Animal Science
  • It is fantastic - I have the freedom to study
and still have time for my family
  • Dawn has had no formal education but with various
evening courses and a passion for animal
conservation she decided the time was right, as
her family was growing up, to try and do
something to follow her passion. Her research led
her to Bridgwater College I could not believe
that the course I wanted to do was actually
taught locally. She applied and to her delight
she was accepted on the basis of her experience.
Due to the flexibility of the course she feels
she is giving herself a new life opportunity but
not comprising her role as wife and mother.

Our Students What they say
  • Sally Nicholls CertHE Agricultural Management
  • I am buzzing from the encouragement that I have
    received from the
  • staff
  • A visit to an agriculture show changed the
direction of Sallys life! She was working for an
animal feed company and she knew she was capable
of more. I spoke to the Cannington Centre staff
at the show and decided there and then to apply
for the CertHE Agricultural Management course.
Sally was very attracted to the course, living in
the country and being an active Young Farmer.
Another bonus was that she could study at this
level of education without leaving her
employment. Sally has found the course
fantastic, hard work but very rewarding.
  • I am getting good marks and enjoying learning
the practical side. The quality of the teaching
is excellent and my tutor has entered me into the
    National Rural Business Management competition,
which has included a presentation to the Bank
Manager!. The College is lovely and I would
recommend anyone to enrol, it has been an amazing
journey for me. Sallys long term plan is to
form a business and financial consultancy in
    agriculture.
