• It is possible to find out the United States
  public debt and get tax information from the IRS

• The Internet offers a unique shopping environment
• People used to go window-shopping, looking
  through store windows with no real intent to buy,
  but rather to see what is available and to
  compare prices
• The best place to window-shop these days is
  online
• On the Internet, you can buy anything from
  CD-ROMs and books to computers and new cars all
  from the convenience of your own home

Look up Stock Prices

• The speed of the Internet makes it convenient to
  check prices online because they are usually
  up-to-date and accurate
• Investors have quick, easy access to all sorts of
  economic information allowing them to make smart,
  educated decisions about their investments
• The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) measures
  the stock performance of 30 large U.S. companies.
  It serves as a benchmark, or standard, against
  which to judge the performance of individual
  stocks

• While many large book companies shied away from
  the Web, Amazon.com jumped right online and began
  to sell books exclusively over it
• This company was truly a pioneer because it
  started business without a physical store.
  Within a few years, book sales skyrocketed
• Today, Amazon.com sells everything from books to
  DVDs, electronic devices to music, and kitchen
  appliances to cellular phones
