The role of the KS2 FW in planning
  • The framework has been devised to enable schools
to build motivating and imaginative teaching
plans and units, which deal with topics of real
interest and relevance to the children (DFES
    2005)

13
A climbing frame
  • (The Framework) is to be seen as a support to
both primary and secondary teachers. It is
designed to encourage creativity and imagination
without prescribing and imposing content- a
climbing frame then, not a cage.

Shaping your own planning
  • How can we pull all of this together?
  • use the QCA schemes alongside a key resource
    which will support you
  • Amalgamate 2 schemes ie. QCA and a bought scheme
to tailor it for your schools situation?
  • Use a key resource pack and gradually integrate a
wider variety of resources over time?
  • Does what you plan to use help you develop the
skills outlined in the framework objectives ie.
    address progression adequately?
