What is a Portfolio?
  • Is a hinged cover or flexible case for carrying
    loose papers, pictures or pamphlets
  • The office and functions of a minister of state
    or member of a cabinet
  • The securities held by an investor
  • The commercial paper held by a financial house
    (as a bank)

So what should be included a students portfolio?

  • A table of contents
  • A course Syllabus
  • Daily Assignments, quiz, daily work, projects,
    written and or reading assignments
  • A pre-test to check the level of
    experience/knowledge, skills in areas such as
    reading, writing, math.
  • His/Her accomplishments such as certificates of
    completion, awards, pictures of the student
    working on projects, doing volunteer work,
    letters from sponsors

  • Ribbons, trophies, letters of recommendation or
    recognition for perfect attendance, top 5 or
    10, TAAS scores, transcripts, community
    projects, etc.
  • A resume
  • An example of an application for employment,
    their personal data or any pertaining information
  • A certificate of completion from the program of
    study.

  • A student needs to be aware of the major topics,
    skills , he/she will learn in your course.
  • A list of major projects/ and activities, as well
    as teachers procedures for testing, make-up
    work, retest grading policies, etc.
