Skills for Learning Piloting a Training and
Embedding Programme for Students at Queen's
Developing Learning and Teaching Fund
Introduction The learning environment is becoming
ICT rich but not all students have the
appropriate ICT skills to cope with this
environment. To address this problem, a
programme for ICT skill development was produced
and piloted with level 1 Humanities students in
2002-2003. Feedback from this pilot will inform
the provision of ICT training for all level 1
students in 2003 - 2004.

- USE IT campaign targeted at all level 1
students - Profiling tool to identify students ICT skills
and appropriate training - Training programme with supporting training
materials - Computer based ICT assessment to assess basic ICT
competence - Audit of ICT skills development within level 1
