  • Chunks of ice and dust whose orbits are usually
    very long, narrow ellipses, possibly born way
    beyond our solar system

  • As the comet orbits the sun, the solar wind blows
    ice and dust off the comet forming a tail that
    always points away from the sun

  • Meteoroid- a small asteroid outside of Earths
    atmosphere
  • Meteor- a streak of light produced from a meteor
    going through Earths atmosphere
