Adding Friendly Favorites
  • The text that shows up in your favorites list
    comes from the title tag for the Web page youre
    viewing
  • The title tag shows up in the bar at the top your
    browser

  • Some Website authors create very long title tags,
    put them all in capital letters, or even worse,
    dont include any text in the title tag (thats
    why you see either untitled or a blank space
    when you add some Web pages to your favorites
    list)

  • When you click Add to Favorites whatever text
    is in the title tag displays in Name box in the
    Add Favorite box that pops open

  • Highlight the text you want to delete, then press
    the Delete key, then click OK
  • If you want change all the text, type the text
    you prefer, then click OK

  • Notice how the text displays in your favorites
    list
  • Its different than the title tag that wouldve
    displayed if you didnt edit it when you added it

Changing Existing Favorites
  • If you already have sites in your favorites list
    that youd like to make more user-friendly,
    highlight / click on Organize Favorites

  • Locate the favorite you wish you edit and
    highlight it, then click on the Rename button
  • This will highlight the current title

  • Highlight unwanted text and press the Delete
    key
  • Highlight all the text and overtype new text,
    when finished, press the ENTER key on your
    keyboard
