About JEUNE
  • It is the organisation representing young
    craftsmen and young entrepreneurs of SME in the
    EU
  • It was founded in February 1994, registered in
    Belgium
  • It comprises approximately 400.000 entrepreneurs
  • It is composed by 10 associations from 8 EU
    Member States (probably enlarging in 2009)
  • Administrative Council is made up of
    representatives of member organisations, young
    entrepreneurs

Aims
  • To inform members on developments in European
    politics and legislation
  • To actively encourage contacts between members
    in order to facilitate the exchange of
    information and ideas
  • To represent the interests of members at EU
    level
  • To promote EU and national initiatives aimed at
    the creation of young enterprises
  • To support the setting up of new businesses in
    other areas of the EU

  • President and Vice-Presidents
  • Representation vis-à-vis UEAPME, NORMAPME
    (attendance to regular meetings)
  • Contacts with associations of young entrepreneurs
    in other EU countries
  • Represent JEUNE at conferences and events (ex
    European Craft Conference in Stuttgart 2007,
    SME-FIT II events 2008-2009, etc.)
  • Follow specific projects and activities of JEUNE
    depending on their interests or on the mandate
    from their national association

  • Edit the JEUNE newsletter with useful
    information for young entrepreneurs (see
    www.jeune-pme.eu)
  • Regular contact with member associations
  • Contacts with the EU institutions
    organisations working in the field of youth or
    organisations at national level
  • Inform members of important initiatives and
    projects at EU-level (i.e. Small Business Act,
    Erasmus for young entrepreneurs).
  • Respond to ad hoc questions from members

  • EUE-Net European University-Enterprise
    cooperation Network
  • Financed by DG Education and Culture of the
    European Commission
  • 52 partners, lead partner University of Brasov
    of Romania
  • Objectives
  • Increase the presence of the entrepreneurs in
    the University (role of JEUNE provide
    entrepreneurs that want to go to a foreign
    University) provide input from SME-side
  • Promote the entrepreneurship spirit within the
    University
  • Develop Network of Career Offices in the
    Universities

Ongoing Projects
  • 3. Business Support Programme III (SME-FIT II)
  • UEAPME is the coordinator of the project
  • Funded by European Commission, DG Enlargement
  • 4 target countries Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia
    and Turkey
  • JEUNE participates at seminars in these
    countries and presents
  • EU entrepreneurship policies activities of
    JEUNE at EU level
  • Activities of JEUNEs member organisations at
    national level in the field of entrepreneurship
    and support to entrepreneurs

Members
  • Receive up-to-date information on EU policies
    addressed to young entrepreneurs (i.e.Erasmus for
    young entrepreneurs, Access to finance for SMEs,
    etc)
  • Representatives come to Brussels JEUNE goes to
    them (meetings in Stuttgart, Barcelona, Brussels,
    etc.)
  • Participate in JEUNEs projects
  • 1st JEUNE Convention in 2007 (access to finance,
    promotion of entrepreneurship, etc.) Next
    foreseen in 2010
  • Enables members to be part of a European
    organisation and exchange experiences and learn
    from others
