NOPSA Legislated Functions

• to promote the occupational health and safety of
  persons engaged in offshore petroleum operations
• to develop and implement effective monitoring and
  enforcement strategies to secure compliance with
  the legislation
• to investigate accidents, occurrences and
  circumstances and to provide lessons learnt to
  offshore petroleum operators
• to advise persons on occupational health and
  safety matters relating to offshore petroleum
  operations
• to report and make recommendations to Australian
  Government, State and NT Ministers and
• to cooperate with Australian Government, State
  and NT agencies, and Designated Authorities to
  ensure effective regulation of offshore petroleum
  operations.
