Beethovens Early Years

• Born in Bonn, Germany on December 16, 1770
• His Father and Grandfather were professional
  musicians
• Learned to play the piano at the age of twelve.

Career

• Was a pupil of the Austrian composer Joseph
  Hayden for less than a year.
• He traveled to Vienna to play for Mozart.
• Started to become deaf at the young age of 28.

Beethovens Later Years

• Stopped performing publicly at the age of 45.
• He was completely deaf by the age of 50.
• Kept composing symphonies even thought he was
  completely deaf and had to communicate by writing
  things down.

The Last Years

• He composed a total of nine symphonies between
  1799 and 1824.
• Died on March 26, 1827 in Vienna, Austria at the
  age of 56.
