• Supports European cooperation in all areas of
  education
• Helps fund a wide range of partnership and
  exchange schemes, including grants to study,
  teach, follow a training course or get work
  experience abroad.
• Open to everyone in the education sector who is
  interested in innovative European projects and
  networks designed to improve teaching and
  learning.
• Second phase of the programme will run for seven
  years (2000-2006 - Socrates II)
