We will be called Team LaPoint
  • 2 MVP s (Most Valuable Players) will be chosen
    each day.
  • These people will help with daily tasks.
  • We also take care of our classroom with TEAM
    LAPOINT jobs.

Book-It Reading Program
  • We will participate in the Book-It Reading
    Program. Each night, you will read at home. You
    will record the number of minutes you have read.
    At the end of each month, you will receive a
    Pizza Hut personal pizza if you have read 300
    minutes.

Lets READ!
  • Try to read 15-20 minutes every night.
  • This helps to build reading fluency.
  • Read out loud as much as possible.
  • Book-It goes from October- March.

Classroom Expectations
  • We will come up with our team and individual
    goals for the year.
  • Then together, we will come up with some
    classroom guidelines so we can reach our goals.
  • We have some school-wide guidelines to talk about
    also.

  • This is the writing center. We write each day.
  • Things you can find there include

Writing Notebook/ Friday Journals
  • We will write in our notebooks nearly every day.
    Some of our writing pieces will be published into
    books.

Trouble-Free Playground Program
  • We will continue this format this year
  • Recess first, then eat lunch
  • Option to play a variety of small group games at
    recess
  • Benefits
  • More students involved with organized games in
    smaller numbers.
  • Students will not have to bring outdoor snow gear
    to the lunch room.
  • Students will enjoy their lunch and not race to
    finish so they can get out to the playground.

  • Pictures are taken in the gym.
  • Feel free to stop down there at anytime today.
  • All students need to have their picture taken.

  • Consider attending!
