What it looks like

• Bobcats are red and brown cats.
• Their fur provides excellent camouflage.
• The name Bobcat comes from their stumpy 4 to 6
  inch tails and their bobbing gait.
• Males can weigh from 20 to 30 pounds.
• They have facial tuffs that aid their keen
  hearing.

What they eat

• Rabbits and hares make up two thirds of their
  diet.
• They will also consume small rodents and birds.
• They will hunt up to 25 miles looking for food.

Where they live

• They are found extensively through out North
  America from southern Mexico to Canada.
• The farther north a bobcat lives the bigger they
  grow .
• The largest are found in Canada.
• Bobcats live in a variety of habitats from
  mountain ranges to prairies, and from subtropical
  swamps to deserts.
