5K Robot Run/Walk Pledge Form
I am participating in the 5K Robot Run/Walk on
April 4, 2009 sponsored by First State Robotics
to raise money for a very special cause. I am a
member of Robotics Team __________________________
______ and we build robots to participate in
FIRST robotics competitions on regional and
national levels. See what FIRST is about
below. Our Robotics team is one of the most
inspired and enthusiastic FIRST organizations in
our region, and we plan to take our robot to
compete with the best of the best in regional and
possibly National Championship events. I have
made a commitment to raise money towards our
teams development, expenses and potential travel
costs and I really need your help to reach this
goal! FIRST stands for For Inspiration and
Recognition of Science and Technology and is a
program designed to interest students from
elementary through high school in careers in
science, technology and engineering. I am
working with professionals who are teachers,
engineers, and/or parents who volunteer their
time to mentor students through this program. We
work together to design and build robots that
play exciting, challenging and competitive games.
In the process, I am learning about engineering,
project planning, computer programming, public
speaking, and developing, competitive, and other
real-world valuable skills. Students, like me,
participating in the FIRST program are also
eligible for over 8 million in scholarships for
college! All donations are tax deductible, and
receipts for your donations can be provided.
