  • NATIONAL BACKGROUND
  • Resulting from the Russell Commission on Youth
    Engagement, vinvolved is Englands biggest ever
    youth action scheme
  • 107 vinvolved teams, located in every region of
    the country, signposting young people to
    volunteering opportunities
  • Backed by 75 million funding from v, the
    national youth volunteering charity
  • Over three years, the scheme aims to encourage up
    to 500,000 young people across England to help
    out in and lead their own volunteering projects
  • V also funds Vprojects, VMatch Fund Projects and
    Vtalent Year Projects and has a grants programme
    for youth led projects through VCashpoint

  • Vinvolved team hosted by Reigate and Redhill YMCA
  • 8 full and part-time staff based in Redhill,
    Woking and Guildford
  • Partnership agreement with Surrey Volunteer
    Centre Network
  • During the first 18 months, youth volunteers
    placed in over 1,750 positions
  • 871 new to volunteering
  • Over 4,000 youth volunteering opportunities
    identified with over 180 organisations
  • 3 training workshops - 60 attendees from 46
    organisations (2 more planned in Autumn 2009)
