Current state of QA System in CROATIA
- HE Law adapted in 1993, amended in 1996 and
2000 - Law, by-laws /statutes, rules,
regulations, recommendations speak about
procedures, standards, criteria and mechanisms of
QA in higher education
- National Council of Higher Education is an
independent, strategic, expert advisory and
evaluating body (by law) In reality?!

Currently, Croatian HE institutions are in the
procedure of change - new HE law - change of
the structure, organisation and management -
change of QA system

IMPORTANT OBJECTIONS TO THE TEMPUS PROJECT
ACTIVITY
Specific objectives 1. establishment of
sustainable enrolment policy 2. enhancement of
quality culture 3. development of institutional
evaluation model

  • Resistance of the academic community (loss of
    privileges and acquired rights

  • providing relevant and broad information to the

    development of the QA system
  • HE institutions should be ready to accept develop
    and continuously implement high quality standards
    and criteria
  • the QA system should respect and give incentives
    by rewarding quality and excellence
