Accelerated Reader
  • Each 9 weeks students must read a minimum of 2
    books and take 2 A.R. tests on the computer.
  • One of the books must be fiction and one must be
    non fiction.
  • There will also be a Book Share each 9 weeks on
    various genres. The Book Share may be counted
    towards the fiction selection.

Nightly Homework
  • Your child will have approximately 45 minutes of
    homework each night. The work is to be the
    students. They are expected to complete
    assigned work on their own first, then seek
    assistance or someone to check over as needed.
    Additionally, they should be including 15 or more
    minutes of independent/partner reading each
    evening.

Testing Report Card Information
  • State Achievement tests will be given in the
    following areas
  • 1. Reading

  • Report cards Grades given in all core subjects
    with standards marked in Reading, Math, and
    Written Expression.

More important information!
  • Bus passes Pick up notes must be sent in
    writing by the parent.
  • Please make sure that your childs name is
    written on all coats, sweaters, lunchboxes, etc.
    to avoid losing those items.
  • Be sure to place any money, checks, etc. into
    labeled envelopes as well and write your childs
    name on your check memo lines to avoid payment
    confusion.
  • We celebrate birthdays on or near the childs
    birthday. If youd like, please feel free to send
    in a special birthday snack for each child to
    enjoy. I ask that it be in individual servings.
    If you prefer, you are more than welcome to read
    and/or donate a book to our classroom library in
    honor of your child as well.

Wellness Plan
  • The district wellness plan encourages classroom
    snacks and food to include healthy choices and
    alternatives to dessert-type items.
