1. Entering His Gate of Heritage ???????
  • The Mayflower Compact, drafted and signed on
November 11, 1620 says, in part "Having
undertaken, for the glory of God and advancement
of the Christian Faith and honor of our King and
country, a voyage to plant the first colony in
the northern parts of Virginia, do by these
presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of
God and one of another, covenant and combine
ourselves together into a civil body politic . .

  • Ephesians 111-14 (NKJV)
  • 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance,
being predestined according to the purpose of Him
who works all things according to the counsel of
His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ
should be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him
you also trusted, after you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation in whom
also, having believed, you were sealed with the
Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee
of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

  • He calms the storm, so that its waves are
still. . . . He guides them to their desired
haven. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord
for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to
the children of men! (Psalm 10729-31)

2. Entering His Gate of Haven ???????
  • As the 90-ton Mayflower, captained by part-owner
Christopher Jones, sailed for the New World on
August 5, 1620, the 102 Pilgrims huddled in dark,
    low-ceilinged holds.
  • The Pilgrims prayed and praised as best they
could during the seven-week voyage. Upon landing
at last, according to William Bradford, "they
fell upon their knees and blessed the God of
heaven, who had brought them over the vast and
furious ocean, and delivered them from all their
perils and miseries thereof, again to set their
feet on the firm and stable earth."

2. Entering His Gate of Haven ???????
  • Psalm 182
  • The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my
deliverer my God is my rock, in whom I take
refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my
    salvation, my stronghold.

3. Entering His Gate of Help ???????
  • Surely God is my help the Lord is the one who
    sustains me. (Psalm 544)
  • ??????,??????? (?? 544)

3. Entering His Gate of Help ???????
  • Squanto taught them how to catch eels, plant corn
in the Indian way, and survive in the wilderness
by stalking deer, refining maple syrup, using
herbs for medicine, and trading beaver pelts.
Without him, Plymouth Colony might not have
survived and that's why, at the end of the
growing season, the Pilgrims and Indians
    celebrated Thanksgiving.

11
3. Entering His Gate of Help ???????
  • Psalm 1248 Our help is in the name of the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
  • John 1426 (NKJV) But the Helper, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He
will teach you all things, and bring to your
remembrance all things that I said to you.
  • Hebrews 136, So we say with confidence, The
Lord is my helper I will not be afraid. What can
    man do to me?"

12
4. Entering His Gate of Hope ???????
  • We have this hope as an anchor for the soul,
firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary
behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before
us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a
high priest forever, in the order of
    Melchizedek. (Hebrews 619-20)

4. Entering His Gate of Hope ???????
  • In Fall of 1621, when Governor William Bradford
declared a day of public Thanksgiving in Plymouth
Colony, suddenly ninety Indians showed up to
celebrate with them. The Pilgrims almost panicked
when they realized how many they had to feed. To
make matters worse, the Indians showed up a day
    early!
  • All in all, the celebration lasted three days.
But the highlight was when William Brewster stood
and offered a solemn prayer of thanksgiving to
God who had protected them by His providence and
    provided for their needs.

4. Entering His Gate of Hope ???????
  • Romans 146-11 (New King James Version)
  • 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the
Lord and he who does not observe the day, to the
Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to
the Lord, for he gives God thanks and he who
does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and
gives God thanks. 7 For none of us lives to
himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For if we
live, we live to the Lord and if we die, we die
to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die,
we are the Lords. 9 For to this end Christ died
and roseb and lived again, that He might be
Lord of both the dead and the living. 10 But why
do you judge your brother? Or why do you show
contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand
before the judgment seat of Christ.c 11 For it
    is written
  • As I live, says the LORD,
  • Every knee shall bow to Me,
  • And every tongue shall confess to God.
