Adaptation to climate change is preparing for the
future

• Cannot by itself solve the problem of climate
  change, but it can mute the impacts
• Adaptation must happen at local and regional
  levels
• Responsibility for adaption is shared but
  differentiated - between individuals,
  municipalities and central government
• Adaptation must be considered in different time
  perspective
• Development itself is the most effective way to
  promote adaptation

Sweden will become warmer and wettersome
examples of effects we need to adapt to

• High flows, floods, landslides and erosion will
  affect building construction, infrastructure
  (f.ex. sewage water system), dam safety.
• Bigger production in forestry and agriculture but
  more damage and pests.
• More extreme heat waves will lead to increased
  mortality and hotter climate with increased
  perticipation results in increased spread of
  infection
• Baltic sea will totally change as ecosystem
