What is NICE?

• The National Institute for Clinical Excellence
  (NICE) provides national guidance on treatments
  and care in the NHS in England and Wales
• NICE guidance is for healthcare professionals and
  patients to help them make informed decisions
  about treatment and healthcare

• Technology appraisals (use of discrete drugs or
  therapies)
• Clinical Guidelines (cover wider management and
  treatment of patients with a specific condition)
• Interventional procedures (advice on safety of
  new procedures)
