Travis

• Travis, a teenage farm boy, is smart, witted,
  talented, and obedient . When his father leaves
  on a cattle drive he is forced to take care of
  the family. Travis, since loosing his dog, hates
  all dogs, but when Old Yeller comes along he
  decides to change his mind.

Old Yeller

• Old Yeller is a fast and cunning cow herding dog.
  He comes across Travis when he steals Traviss
  meat. Travis wants to get rid of him, but Arliss
  (Traviss brother) claims him. After they met,
  Old Yeller was by Traviss side always. He helped
  save the whole familys lives, but once his
  opponent was too much for him.

Summary

• Travis, a fourteen year old boy, became the man
  of the house after his dad left for Abilene,
  Kansas. One day a big yeller dog came up to
  their house and stole the familys meat. After
  that incident Travis wanted to kill the dog, but
  later the dog came in handy when bears, hogs,
  wolves, raccoons and skunks, and bulls attack.
  In the end Travis learns to love the big yeller
  dog.

• If you love a good book about a boy and his dog,
  youll love Old Yeller. I just so happened to
  love the book, and highly recommend this book to
  anybody who loves to read.
