Who is E-Evolve?
  • A consortium partnership between five
    institutions

What is E-Evolve?
  • An Enhancing Employability Project that aims
    to improve graduate-level employability for
    business and management graduates

  • developing a model and learning resources
  • supporting enquiry based learning
  • using a virtual learning environment

    confidence in their ability to
  • take effective and appropriate action
  • explain what they are seeking to achieve

Key Findings from Tutor Survey
  • Most support on placement getting CV writing,
    Covering letters, Interviews and Application
    forms
  • Key skills and IT guidance only offered in a
    third of institutions, mainly class based
    sessions
  • Less than half of the institutions offered no
    Health and Safety guidance in a class based
    session and 7 offered no guidance at all!
  • Over half of the institutions offered no guidance
    on Time Management
  • Majority of institutions did not offer Other
    Workplace skills such as conflict management,
    stress management, networking etc

Initial Findings from Student Survey
  • Responses from only two institutions
  • Mainly IT related courses
  • All but 1 had attended a preparation module and
    most felt prepared for the placement
  • Just under 60 had health and safety training
  • 40 unhappy with the support they received from
    their institution
  • Satisfaction with Employers very high
  • 62 offered some form of employment
