She would fade in an out of my life, I never knew
where she was or if she even cared about me until
she came back.
3
She always came back
4
Every time I saw her it made me love her more,
even though inside I knew she was going to leave
again.
5
When she was gone all I had was my Grandparents.
They Loved me and cared for me while my mom was
out sick. I learned that they would always be
there for me.
6
When my mother was better and started a life with
her new husband, it was time for me to join their
new life.
7
I thought it was a new start and I was excited
for my new life with a real family. It was time
for me to have the perfect life. I believed and
trusted that this life was going to be great.
8
Until one night, she didnt come back home.
All trust was thrown on the ground and stomped
on. Felt like I moved only to come back to the
same life that I had. The life with the
Disappearing mother.
9
Starting a new school was more like starting
a game. Gambling on if I would have
a mom to come home to or not when I
got home.
10
The game was rigged.. Only my mom could
decide which way the game ended each day. That is
until my dad got tired of her pulling the same
card.
11
It was my dads turn. He now decided on which way
this game went. Recovery, or move away.
12
She was gone again, but for a better reason. She
was gone to get well. Not gone because of her
addiction. She worked for her recovery.
13
She just didnt hit rock bottom yet. She was
back out and back to her old game. I was worrying
about having a mom at home again and not worrying
about my school work.
14
I stopped worrying when my mom started her
Recovery center. I got to focus on myself and not
have to worry about her as much anymore.
15
She had to rebuild a lot of trust at this point.
I was always keeping an eye on her and there was
a change. She was rebuilding her life as well.
She was changing for the better.
16
I started doing better in school knowing I had
someone to come home to every day. I didnt have
to concentrate on her during school. I could
think clearly.
17
Together we opened doors I didnt think we could
ever open.
18
We were opening doors that needed to be opened.
Doors that uncovered the greatest places and
adventures.
19
Now we have a strong family, and a very special
bond. We have been through everything and always
been there for one another. I know I am a lot
stronger because of what I have been through. I
couldnt have done it without my family though. I
have learned a lot from my mom and my dad. I am
so glad I am alive.
