RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTENANCE OF ROADS -
SECTION 13 ROADS ACT, 1993
  • County Council responsible for all National and
    Regional Roads including those within Town
    Council Administrative Areas.
  • County Council responsible for all Local Roads
    except Town Council Areas Mallow Fermoy.
  • County Council contributes funding to Town
    Councils for street cleaning on National and
    Regional Roads in the Mallow and Fermoy T.C.
    areas.

  • Local Improvement Scheme
  • For resurfacing minor Non - Council (Private)
    Roads which serve at least two active farm
    holdings again, usually cul de sac roads
  • A local contribution of 10 of the estimated
    cost is required for schemes costing less than
    25,393
  • A local contribution of 15 of the estimated
    cost is required for schemes costing more than
    25,393
