• Setting- Back in time down south, in Alabama
• Main Characters- Johnny (Red Chief), Bill, and
  Sam
• Background- Bill and Sam plot to get money by
  kidnapping Johnny, the son of a wealthy banker.

Rising Action

• Johnny is kidnapped by Bill and Sam.
• The kidnappers wrote Ebenezer Dorset, Johnny's
  father, asking him for 1,500 dollars and they
  would give him the boy back.

Conflict

• Bill and Sam need money so they kidnap Johnny.
  Once they take him to the cave they find out the
  boy is enjoying being kidnapped.

Climax

• Johnny's dad replied, refusing to pay the money
  and demanding that Bill and Sam pay 250 dollars
  for him to take Johnny
• off their hands.

Falling Action

• Johnny refuses to go back home. So Bill and Sam
  trick him and say his father bought him a silver
  mounted rifle and a pair of Indian moccasins.
  Then they tell Johnny that they will go bear
  hunting the next day.

Resolution

• Mr. Dorset has to hold down Johnny as Bill and
  Sam try to escape.
