DISCLAIMER
  • This test was not conducted to endorse nor
condemn any product but simply to see how the
    FIT 5 worked.

4
Chronological Order
  • Fire ignited
  • Side D window vented after about 8 minutes to
prevent backdraft and allow for fire growth
  • Shortly thereafter the room flashed over and
front thermo pane glass doors self vented.
  • FIT 5 was activated and thrown in
  • The following pictures start with the device
    being thrown in.

FIT 5
FIT 5 is being thrown in. (In firefighters
hand-hidden by TIC in picture)
6
Fire is darkened down white smoke is from area
where FIT 5 landed. Heat is reduced as evidenced
by the slowing of the rate of rise of the smoke

OBSERVATIONS
  • Due to the lack of confinement the agent was able
to escape and oxygen was able to be re-introduced
into the fire room. Thus the fire did eventually
grow back to its original intensity.
  • It seems logical that if the room was unvented
the agent would have been confined and thus the
fire re-growth would not have occurred or would
have at least been significantly delayed.
