• Greening Government campaign requires Government
  departments to take account of environmental
  considerations in their purchasing activities
• Agency recognises the impact that environmental
  issues can have on supplier profitability and
  therefore the cost of delivering healthcare
  within the NHS.
• NHS is now being forced to take account of
  environmental considerations in its purchasing
  activities
• UK regulations packaging, WEEE, CCL, Integrated
  Product Policy

  with suppliers and the NHS to deliver this agenda

• briefing note on WEEE directive issued to
  suppliers

  seminar held in February 2002
• environmental purchasing guidance and workshops
  to be rolled out in 2002
