• Based on 5 year cycle, HNC and HND Accounting due
  for review
• Consultation indicated that existing awards are
  still fit for purpose
• Limited review appropriate
• - structure of awards will not change
• - content of mandatory units will remain
  broadly similar

• Overall requirements
• Reduce volume of assessment
• Remove / reduce prescriptive assessment
  conditions
• Improve statement of standards 70 cut off
  considered inappropriate for competence based
  qualification
• Improve core skills signposting and guidance

• Qualification Review Team set up comprising
  representatives from 6 colleges
• First meeting April 08
• Consultation on initial proposals May / June 08
• Responses from 9 colleges

• Final draft Unit Specifications for all HNC
  Units, concentrating on Cost Acc and RFI
• Final draft Unit Specification for MAPC
• Revised Statements of Standards to replace 70
  cut off threshold
• Ensuring full credit transfer from current
  mandatory units

• HND 2nd year mandatory units March 2009
• Graded Units 1, 2 and 3 May 2009
• Confirm exemptions from professional bodies
• Validation of revised Group Awards
• Exemplars, as required, for all mandatory units
  including GUs
• Launch April 2010 for implementation 2010/2011
