Friends of Goldstone School (Fr.O.G.S.) thank you
for all your support so far this year!
So Far AGM, 28/9/08. Committee elected, last
year reviewed, this year considered, figures for
2007-08 available of the website. Wheelie Day,
1/10/08. A bit chilly and drizzly, but childrens
enthusiasm not dampened! We made 158.12 well
done! Any thoughts about encouraging more Juniors
to attend would be of interest to us. Halloween
Discos, 21/10/08. WOW! Best ever attendance for
both Infants and Juniors. Very colourful, very
hot, very chaotic. Delicious homemade cakes on
sale, MANY thanks to those of you who became
Domestic Goddesses and produced a batch for
us! Family Quiz Night, 14/11/08. Again, best ever
attendance. Great fun, great pizzas, great
quizzing. Thanks SO MUCH to Allan Wigley and his
team of childminders, much appreciated and
positive feedback from kids and parents alike.
We seem to have started off this academic year
with a real sense of enthusiasm thanks to
everyone who has been part of this. Our FrOGS
Committee is now fully formed. We have 8 members,
including three new ones, notably Vania
Seeveramen (Yr 3 teacher), Nick Huxley (Reception
parent) and Lisa Saunders (Junior auntie!) These
additional people have brought new ideas and
resource to the Committee and are very welcome

GOLD
Christmas Is Coming Working in a primary school
is always full of change and things which break
routines and require quick thinking. At this time
of year we are at warp factor 3 as we prepare for
the festivities with plays, concerts and parties
to look forward to as we head into December. We
are always dependant on the help of parents and
carers at this time of year whether it is to
provide food for parties or costumes for plays so
a very big thank you in anticipation of your
support this year. There will be another Gazette
in a week or so but we wanted to get this one out
before the Christmas Fair on FRIDAY. Please try
to come along the last two fairs have been great
successes and we are all sure that this one will
be the best yet. A huge thank you to the FrOGS
for all their hard work.

Mrs Hemsley Parents of children in the Nursery
will be aware that Mrs Hemsley has been away from
school for the last couple of weeks.
Unfortunately she will be away until after
Christmas. We are keeping as much continuity as
possible with Ms March working the first part of
the week and Mrs Huyton working at the end of the
week. Obviously we all wish Mrs Hemsley a very
speedy recovery
