    State Fire Training system

Enfranchisement
  • States are full partners with the USFA/NFA
  • They can hire NFA instructors to teach NFA
    courses, issue NFA certificates and register
    their students here.
  • 25k grant available to State Fire training
    system to deliver the courses

Endorsement
  • State / local systems have needs for courses that
    the USFA/NFA cannot develop because of time or
    resources
  • Endorsement is a process by which State developed
    courses can receive NFA endorsement, exchange
    them among themselves and use federal funds to
    deliver
  • These courses may be taught with USFA/NFA grant
    funds NFA cert issued.

ApplicationProcess
  • For Resident Courses including VIP
  • Application period May 1 to June 30. Classes for
    classes held October 1-March 31.
  • Application period November 1 to December 31 for
    classes held April 1 September 30
