Step by Step I

• The course is designed for English-speaking
  beginners in Russian. It provides students with a
  basic knowledge of Russian. Students will learn
  to read uncomplicated texts, to understand and to
  use simple everyday language. The grammar
  patterns are arranged according to the need and
  communication situation.

Step by Step II

• This course is designed to help students to
  develop their speech habits. The overall aim of
  the course is to acquire vocabulary for everyday
  communication and to develop students oral and
  writing skills. It also provides a basic
  knowledge of Russian grammar. In addition, during
  the course students will get familiar with
  Russian culture, customs and traditions.

Russian in Cultural Context

• The course is designed for English- and
  Estonian-speaking learners. Various aspects of
  Russian culture and peoples life will be
  discussed. Grammar patterns are chosen according
  to the students needs and particular
  communication situations.

Test of Russian as a Foreign Language

• There is possibility to prepare for the
• TORFL and make it in May 2009.
• Successful candidates will be given a Russian
  Federations State Certificate
• Levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1.

TORFL

• The Certificate of International Standard
  (TORFL) may be needed
• to study in Russia (B1)
• to work with Russian clients and tourists
• to work in companies, cooperating with Russian
  firms
• to work in Russian companies

Practice for TORFL

• For successful preparation and testing the
  Language Centre offers special training.
• The courses consists of computer-based
  self-study training (WebCT learning environment)
  and contact lessons in the classroom with the
  tutor.
