    Mini-Baja vehicle.
  • To understand engineering aspects behind
controls, suspension, drive train, and user
    aspects.
  • To apply engineering knowledge towards the
design and fabrication of the vehicle.

Design Update
  • Design Specifications
  • Vehicle must be manufacturable using
    predominantly semi-skilled labor and standard
    machine tools.
  • Vehicles roll cage must adhere to the standards
set forth by the SAE Mini-Baja rules.
  • Vehicle must be able to adequately slow and stop

person 190.3 cm (6 foot 3 inches) tall weighing
    113.4 kg (250 lb).
  • Nominal width of vehicle is 152.4 cm (60 in) at
the widest point with the wheels putting forward
    at static ride height.
  • Maximum overall dimensions below 60 in wide by 96
    in long.
  • Each vehicle must have towing hitch points at the
front and rear, along its longitudinal
    centerline.
  • Vehicle cockpit must be designed to protect the
driver and allow easy exit and entrance to the
vehicle. Driver must be able to exit the vehicle
    within 5 seconds.
  • Vehicle must incorporate a belly pan, body
panels, leg and foot shielding, and
