Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Cancer Proteomics
A 3-year Post-Doctoral Fellowship position,
funded by Cancer Research Ireland, is available
at St. Jamess Hospital/TCD. The successful
candidate will work closely with investigators at
the UCD Conway Institute. Applications are
invited from post-doctoral fellows for a position
in the area of cancer proteomics. The successful
applicant will join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary
team of basic and clinical investigators working
in the area of oesophageal and rectal cancer at
St. Jamess Hospital, Dublin. Applicants should
have a solid background in protein biochemistry,
preferably with proteomics expertise, and hold a
PhD. The successful applicant will play an
important role in application of SELDI technology
for proteomic profiling of serum samples from
cancer patients undergoing neoadjuvant
radiochemotherapy in rectal or oesopahgeal
cancer. The project will involve the
identification of novel biomarkers of response to
such treatments. The applicant will also be
required to provide supervision of two
post-graduate students, whom are also working on
the project. Extensive collaboration will also
take place with investigators at the UCD Conway
Institute. We are looking for an individual who
can work in a team-oriented manner. The
successful candidate will also take on some
project management activities. Applications
