    information with individuals or groups within the
    same Business.
  • Formal Communication When communication is
    recorded for official purposes or record.
  • Informal Communication When communication is
    not recorded for official purposes or record and
    occurs in an informal or social setting.

  • Human Resources
  • The Human Resources department at BMW or even at
    McDonalds might use a formal, written method of
    communication such as a memo to announce details
    of a meeting with the Marketing Department (e.g.
    Time, Date and Venue). This may for example, be
    about new uniform design at BMW / McDonalds or
    maybe how the companies might want to advertise
    new in-store job vacancies in the future.
  • This would be the best method to use for this
    purpose because it is formal and has been
    recorded in case it needs to be referred to in
    the future. Sometimes there can be long delays
    between meetings and people might forget when it
    is supposed to take place or even what was being
    discussed! It can be stored and filed away by the
    Administration Department.
  • This is just one example You now need to do the
    same for the other 6 departments.Marketing,
    Administration, Production, Finance, Customer
    Services and Research Development.
