Pre-primary education

• 3 7 years old children
• Every child MUST to go pre-primary school 1 year
  before basic school
• In Rõuge we have Rõuge Kindergarten
• Parents must pay for the place and food.

Basic education

• 7 15 years old children
• 9 forms
• Free place, free food
• In private schools you must pay
• Compulsory until 17 years old
• To get basic education everyone must pass 3
  final exams.
• After the basic school you can continue or
  finish your studies.

Secondary education

• General (Gymnasium)
• 3 forms
• 16 18 years old
• Free, but not in private schools
• 5 final examinations
• Getting in
• Entrance tests in some schools
• Results of basic education
• After gymnasium you can get vocational education
  too.

• Vocational education
• 16 20 years old
• Free
• Final examinations
• Getting in
• Entrance tests

Bakalaureus and magister study

• 5 years
• Different universities
• With good secondary education you get free place
• In every university is possibility to study if
  you pay for it
• After this part you can go to doktor study
• ( 4 years)

• Most of youngsters wants to go gymnasium
• Government is trying to change vocational
  education image and make it more popular
• We have too many people with high education,
  specially with economical/business education
• We have too less people with speciality and
  special skills
• Studying is still popular

• People with speciality is very needed
• Problems
• Most of companies looking for workers with good
  experiences but youth don't have it
• Cannot find job for her/his speciality in home
  place and they must move away.
